Have you ever known someone whose duties were in Special Ops or Secret Service?

If not, some LEO's (law enforcement officers) might exhibit the following characterstics.  In a restaurant, they sit in the corner with their backs to the wall and face the door.  They walk quietly at the edge of a crowd, while quietly blending in.  They can always find Waldo in the poster. Well, almost always.

 

The traits are best summed up as "situation awareness".  Some people have it conditioned into them as part of formal training.  Others pick it up from the school of hard-knocks.  In any regard, having a heightened sense of your circumstances and surroundings is a huge advantage.

 

This advantage could be to catch a robbery before it happens.  Or you might avoid an ambush by thugs when you thought you were helping an old lady change a tire.  It even could mean that you weren't a listed casualty after a major natural disaster.   To take the concept a bit further: you can see a financial storm brewing and head to safe shelter...
